Hair transplant in Wigan

Wigan and Bury are at opposite corners of Greater Manchester. Our clinic is at Hilton House, Irwell Street, Bury, BL9 0HZ, about eighteen miles away — a real journey rather than a local trip, and this page treats it as one.

The road across

By car it is roughly eighteen miles and typically around forty minutes off-peak, heading east towards Bolton and on into Bury. Your appointment confirmation carries the route we would suggest for the day and the time you are coming.

For the procedure day that means an early start from Wigan, and it means the drive home comes at the end of six to ten hours in the chair. Arrange for someone to take you if you can.

Consultations can usually be placed mid-morning so you are not driving in the peak.

Wigan Wallgate is the station you want

Wigan has two stations beside each other. Wigan Wallgate has direct trains to Manchester Victoria, and the Metrolink platforms for Bury are inside Victoria — one train, one tram, no walk between them.

Wigan North Western is the West Coast Main Line station and is the wrong one for this trip. Wigan itself has no tram; the Metrolink network stops a long way short of it.

The consultation, then a fixed price

The first appointment is a free hair analysis with Dr Meena Zareie (GMC 7722917) or Dr Asfa Hussain (GMC 7727403, MRCSEd). It is not a sales appointment: they assess the donor area, agree what is realistic and write the price down.

Prices start from £3,500 for 1,000–1,600 grafts, £4,500 for 1,600–2,400 and £5,500 for 2,400–3,000+. The binding number follows the analysis, and nothing is added to it afterwards.

The follow-ups are the commitment

Reviews are scheduled in person through to the twelve-month result and are included in the price. From Wigan that is about forty minutes each way, more than once, and we would rather you weighed that before the procedure than after it.

It is still the argument against going abroad. The difference between a review you drive to and a photograph you email is the difference between someone examining your scalp and someone looking at a picture of it.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have a clinic in Wigan?

No. There is one clinic and it is in Bury — Hilton House, Irwell Street, BL9 0HZ, about eighteen miles east of Wigan.

Which Wigan station should I use?

Wigan Wallgate, for the direct train to Manchester Victoria. The Metrolink to Bury leaves from inside Victoria station. Wigan North Western is the main line station and is not useful for this journey.

How long is the drive from Wigan?

Typically around forty minutes off-peak. Allow more in the morning, because the procedure day starts early.

Is Wigan on the tram network?

No. The Metrolink does not reach Wigan, so the train to Manchester Victoria and then the Bury tram is the public transport route.
