Beard transplant: full contours, natural growth

Patchy growth, scarring or the wish for a defined full beard: a beard transplant moves your own hair from the donor area into the beard region — one by one, in the flat growth direction of beard hair.

How a beard transplant works

Extraction works exactly as with a scalp transplant, using FUE from the back of the head. Placement is done meticulously by hand, because beard hairs grow very flat and in precise patterns. Depending on the zone — moustache, chin, cheeks, sideburns — around 350 to 1,500 grafts are typical.

What the result depends on

It comes down to selecting suitable grafts (mostly single hairs along the contours) and a design that suits your face shape. The transplanted beard hair can later be shaved and trimmed like the rest of your beard.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the hair for a beard transplant come from?

Usually from the donor area at the back of the head. Scalp hair is generally close enough to beard hair in structure and calibre for a coherent result.

Can I shave the transplanted beard?

Yes. Once fully healed, the transplanted hair behaves like the rest of your beard and can be shaved, trimmed and styled.

Will there be visible marks on my face?

The placement points usually heal without visible scarring. Redness and small crusts are normal in the first days and typically settle within one to two weeks.

Who is a hair transplant suitable for?

Broadly, people with stable, hereditary hair loss and a sufficiently strong donor area at the back of the head. Whether surgery makes sense in your individual case is what the medical hair analysis is for — with very active hair loss or certain scalp conditions we may recommend other measures first.
