Why travel from Leeds at all

The moorland section is the part to plan around. It is the first stretch to be affected by snow, fog or high winds, and the diversions are long. For a winter appointment, leave earlier than the map suggests.

By train from Leeds

Leeds has trains to Manchester Victoria on the Calder Valley line, by way of Bradford, Halifax and Hebden Bridge. The Metrolink platforms for Bury are inside Victoria station, and Bury is the far end of that tram line.

It makes for a long morning, but a workable one for the consultation and for reviews. For the procedure day itself, most patients who come this far drive or are driven.
